Computer Color Matching Software Introduction- CHNSpec Tech
  Computer color matching system includes spectrophotometer and color matching software. Spectrophotometer is mainly for color measurement and transferring the data into the color matching software. Color matching software will analysis the test result and calculates the best recipes/formula for color matching.   Advantages of Color Matching Software comparing with chemist   1. Simple operation and repaid result : From sample measurement to get recipe, only need about 5-10 minutes. 2. Software can provide different kinds of recipes for the user. The user can choose according to the raw materials cost or raw materials left in warehouse. 3. Software cost is cheaper than hiring more people. One professional chemist with software will be enough for color matching. 4. Recipe get from color matching software is high accuracy and increasing the working efficiency of chemist 5. The color matching quantity is controllable, waste material can also be used for color matching which saves cost.   How to do color matching?   Step 1. We need upload the pigment information and basic material into the software.     Step 2. Set the base information, measurement condition, color layer thickness, etc. Then measure the sample with spectrophotometer.   Sample   Color Matching Software   Step 3. After measurement, press “calculation” on software, then software will start to calculate the formula. Software will provide 3 formulas for the user. It will tell what kind of pigment and how much pigment should be used for color matching.   We make the samples according to the recipe and compare the color different value Delta E*ab with the target sample. The color different is very small. The following picture is the result. (The smaller the color difference value is, the smaller the color difference is.) According to the result, we can see sample made according to formula 3 is very close to the target. Gloss Meter Introduction
1. What is gloss meter?   Gloss is the physical quantity that is used to evaluate the reflect ability of a material's surface under a defined condition. The gloss we usually refer to is "specular gloss," so gloss meter sometimes is called "specular gloss meter” which is mainly used to evaluate the surface gloss of products. Gloss do not have unit, GU is the abbreviation of gloss unit.     2. Usage of Gloss Meter   Gloss meter is used to measure the gloss degree of the surface. The angles selected for measurements are different and the results are also different. The larger the angle, the greater the specular reflectance, the higher the gloss value is; and vice versa. Thus, the level of gloss depends not only on the surface properties of the object, but also on the measurement angle. According to the angles, gloss meter can be mainly divided into 20 ° high gloss meter, 60 ° gloss meter and 85 ° low gloss meter.     3.How to Choose Gloss Meter?   20 ° gloss meter refers standards of ISO-2813, ASTM-D523, ASTM-D2457, etc., mainly for high-gloss paint, ink, plastic, paper, glossy wax paper and casting coated paper. 60 °gloss meter refers standards of ISO-2813, ASTM-C584, ASTM-D523, DIN-6750, ASTM-D2457, etc., mainly used in the luster of the paint, ink, plastic, ceramics, marble, coated paper. 85 °gloss meter refers standards of ISO-2813, DIN-67530, ASTM-D523, etc., mainly for low-gloss paint, camouflage coating, etc.     4. How to choose the Angle of Gloss Meter?   We can start from 60 °, and if the result is between 10-90GU, then choose 60 ° angle. Recently, we get customer inquiry for measuring color of meat by spectrophotometer, today we will introduce how to measure and which instrument is suitable and why need to measure it.   1. Why need to measure the color of meat?   Color is one of the most important quality index for meat. The color of meat generally changes slightly with time, and consumers often associate the "appropriate" color of meat with the quality and freshness of the meat. For example: fresh tuna has a ruddy color, but this red color will decompose with the storage time, causing the color to darken. We can determine the freshness of this fish by measuring its color.     2. What are the measurement methods to measure the color of meat?   If check it by human eyes, it will take longer time and energy to get the result . And test result get by human eyes is subjective.   There is another method, color of meat can be determined by measuring the pigment content inside it, but this method will need a lot of time and chemical reagent.   Spectrophotometer will be the best measurement method. Haze meter made by CHNSpec Tech is designed to measure the both haze and total transmittance of transparent and semi-transparent material. It has been more than 6 months since our haze meter comes out. We have successfully done some projects. Today we will share it to let our customer know better about our instruments. Before we show the cases, we will introduce some definition about it.   1. What is haze? Haze is measured with a wide angle scattering test in which light is diffused in all directions which results in a loss of contrast. That percentage of light that when passing through that deviates from the incident beam by greater than 2.5 degrees on average is defined as haze.     2. Working Principle of Haze Meter When a beam of parallel light hits the sample and enters the integrating sphere, it is scattered on the sphere inner white coating, the total transmittance is measured when the optical trap outlet on the sphere is closed. When the optical trap is opened, haze will be measured.     3. Standards that CS-700 haze meter conforms to ASTM D1003/D1044, ISO13468, ISO14782, JIS K7105, JIS K7361, JIS K7136   4. Recently, we have received customer’s inquiry for plastic color spectrophotoemter to measure color of cable shell. The cable shell should be electrically insulated. It can ensure that the transmitted current or electromagnetic wave or light wave travels only along the wire without flowing to the outside. The most commonly seen cable shell is made by PVC, PE, XLPE,etc. The cable shell also belongs to plastic.   Cable Shell   Today we will introduce how to measure its color with our Plastic Color Spectrophotometer CS-580.   Step 1. Prepare the spectrophotometer and cable shell samples. The customer is making the cable shell into sheet, then measure its color.     If the customer can not make the provide sheet, we can also measure the cable shell directly. If the cable diameter is large, we can put spectrophotometer on it to measure. If the cable diameter is small, it will need to be wind on a flat plate then measure. The surface should be smooth.
