Haze and transmittance are two very important parameters for sun glasses. How to choose a suitable glass haze meter? BYK, MRCL or others, the price is very high to afford. Today, we will introduce how to measure glass haze and transmittance.   How to measure sun glasses haze and transmittance?   Step 1. Prepare the glass samples and haze meter.     Step 2.Calibrate the haze meter   0% Calibration   100% Calibration   Step 3.Haze Meter Parameter, standard and tolerance setup   1. Choose ‘Measure Setup-Parameter”, we can choose “Haze”, “Transmittance” or “Haze + Transmittance”. We choose “Haze + Tran”.     2. Choose “Measure Setup-Reference”, we can choose measurement standard “ASTM” or “ISO”. We choose ASTM this time.     3. Choose ‘Measure Setup-Tolerance”, we can set the tolerance according to different samples.     Step 4.Go back to test interface, put the sample on test aperture, press “test”, we can see the test result directly on screen.     Haze meter made by CHNSpec is a very good choice for measuring glass haze and transmittance. Recently, we have received customer’s inquiry for plastic color spectrophotoemter to measure color of cable shell. The cable shell should be electrically insulated. It can ensure that the transmitted current or electromagnetic wave or light wave travels only along the wire without flowing to the outside. The most commonly seen cable shell is made by PVC, PE, XLPE,etc. The cable shell also belongs to plastic.   Cable Shell   Today we will introduce how to measure its color with our Plastic Color Spectrophotometer CS-580.   Step 1. Prepare the spectrophotometer and cable shell samples. The customer is making the cable shell into sheet, then measure its color.     If the customer can not make the provide sheet, we can also measure the cable shell directly. If the cable diameter is large, we can put spectrophotometer on it to measure. If the cable diameter is small, it will need to be wind on a flat plate then measure. The surface should be smooth. Please refer to the following picture.     Step 2. Switch on the spectrophotometer, after calibration we can measure the sample. After measurement, we can see the test result directly on instrument screen.   Customer is satisfied with the test result and wants to purchase it. Plastic Color Spectrophotometer for ABS Plastic Color Measurement   ABS plastic is a terpolymer of three monomers of acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B), and styrene (S). As a commonly used plastic, it is with excellent comprehensive performance, ABS can be widely used in electronics, electrical appliances, automobiles, construction and other fields. ABS is widely used in home appliances because of its good surface gloss and chemical resistance, toughness, hardness and good process-ability.                                     ABS  Plastic   ABS plastic is commonly seen in our daily life. In order to make the products to have better appearance and visual effect, we will requires the plastic color uniform. Color difference is one of the defects of ABS plastic, it will greatly affect the plastic quality.   Today we will introduce how to measure its color with Plastic Color Spectrophotometer CS-580.   Measurement Condition 1. Mode: Reflectance 2. Light Source and Angle: D65/10 degree 3. Parameters need to Measure: color value CIE L*a*b and △E.   Test Method 1. Prepare the instrument and samples. Test the plastic target and samples. Put the target under the measurement aperture, press “test” we can see the test result directly on instrument. Press “menu” to enter into the sample measurement interface.
